[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was on a quick trip to Stockholm last week. And I only had about an hour for the tourist trail, and the weather was very cold, very grey and light was fading fast at the end of the afternoon. So I set the camera to black and white for most of the time. And catching the change of the guard in front of the royal palace was one of the luckier moments.

Other than cropping and working a bit on the contrast I had to sharpen to the point where it almost created noise. I thought of adding some more and putting this into my Figures in Urban Landscapes series, but decided against it. Don't know why.

You did very well with not tripod, Per! Nice tonal range, and a good composition. Not the kind of photo that gets a lot of attention here, but one that is technically well done!

Gosh, they look so young! How old are they usually? Nice in b&w, and I really like the blurred motion of their hands and feet - gives us a sense of the marching motion.

Great!
Gayle :)

Hello Per,
Great composition, dynamic! I like the lines, enhanced by the brick wall... These guys move fast, considerable motion blur at 1/25 sec... Well done even if I cannot figure why B&W, Aren't these guys rather colourful..?
Greetings,
Pablo -

Very nice city picture, Per. I like the movement you have captured in these young soldiers and their very concentrated expression - trying not to do any missteps. Nicely composed with the soldiers against a very urban environment. Excellent!

The lack of colour, perhaps ? I think it wouldn't fit in the theme, Per.
Anyway, even though a bit oversharpened, I like the mix of statics and dynamics here: bodies static, arms & legs in motion. I think I'd have cropped this one slightly above their bayonets, the windows and large part of that big stone wall don't really add anything in the compo.
Just my idea, of course.
TFS.
