[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Teh Abbey in St. Gallen is a very special place with a long and impressive history. The site was chosen by the Irish missionary Gallus for his solitary recluse in 612. In 712 a benedictine abbey was established here by St. Otmar and it became one of the main sanctuaries of culture and learning that managed to salvage the knowledge over the dark middle ages.
The library of the abbey is to this day world famous. Its present enclosure was built in 1758 and the very beautiful interior was completed in 1767. It is a masterpiece of cabinet making (that I will not be able to show as photography is not permitted inside, so I ended buying one of the postcards).
Over the entrance to the library the inscription reads "Psyches Yatreion" meaning "The Medicine Chest of the Soul". Yes, even the short visit was an elevating experience.

dear Tibi,
perhaps real this building is so tall and stands on its dignity severely...but in your shot it looks like a fine miniature.
anyway nice POV and fore fountain with clear water, light is hot.
white/gray stones and red roofs between light blue sky and fresh green grass and blue water show us beautifully colored composition.
