Welcome to Musee Ariana

Ariana Museum, Swiss Museum of Ceramics and Vases

Gustave Revilliod, great ceramis collector an dealer, decided to build a private Museum to house his personal collection. The project was ambitious; according to the spirit of the end of XIX century, his colletion reflected the most diverse manifestations of human creativity, from the Antiquity til the Contemporary times, in Europe as well as in Middle and far East.
Apart from ceramics and vases, one can also find paintings, sculptures, books, coins, silver, furnituree many other curiosities.
Gustave Revilliod bequeathed his museum and his collection to the City of Geneve, and Ariana became Municipal Museum after the death of its benefector in 1890.
With a rich collection of about 20.000 objects today, Ariana is a unique place in Switzerland and accounts for one the the largest collectionf os ceramics in Europe.

I like the double arch & macaroni columns with a twist. Tfs, & parabenm!

I like that everything is perfect symmetric but those pilars are different!
Your frame is a good classical choice.

Sergio

I can see that at f/3.5, the door is not as sharp as it could be, but you didn't have enough light, obviously... Just a minor niggle as thought for further improvement, but apart from that I am impressed - it's a beautiful, classic, well-composed architecture shot - well done!
Frank

Great capture, Stef.
The serenity, symmetry and colours of it strike me very much.
Strong presentation.
It's just that your signature, (which I love seeing) is a bit faint.
Groet my friend,
Joop.

I like the colours a lot! They're so bright. Of course, composition and framing are fantastic too - but that's obvious ;-).

I like the simplicity and clean lines of this one - excellent photo!

Quelle belle image, Stefania !
