The charming town of Sion is the capital of the canton of Valais and an old medieval stronghold. It is located at the heart of the Swiss Alps, with two splendid castles towering above it. It is a pleasant town to live in and has a rich history. It offers many cultural and open-air activities, such as excursions, golf and mountain biking, to mention but a few.
Sion dates back to the stone age. But in 15 BC the Romans conquered this Celtic part. Sion was forthwith called Sedunum. In the 6th century the seat of the bishop was transferred here from Martigny. |

Hi Tsilla. What a great POV of the valley with terraced hill in the middle ground and the mountains with the clouds. The composition and the perspective is great. A post card from Sion and is no wonder the nobles built their castles in such a beautiful place. Good post.
i love the view, Tsilla.. so beautiful to look at.. i would want to live there but probably it's so cold there.. but to smell the fresh air everyday.. hmmm.. :) excellent POV and composition.. good work here.. well taken..
