The lovely central building really captures our attention but I particularly like the less obvious details - the lamp and flower on the left and lit window on the right. A beautifully composed shot.

Love this shot Jim. Great narrow crop. Of course the building bathed in sunlight is the focal point ... great looking facade with the green shutters and red flowers .. but the rest of the composition is great too.
Great shot.

Hi Jim,

I like the way you composed this photo. Excellent colors and sharpness. Your POV and the way that the light accentuates the building really makes this shot.

Werner

Brilliant shot Jim
The building itself is very attractive, but you catching it in full sunlight between the other 2 buildings is very eye-catching. And having the hillside of trees in the BG - spot on
Well seen and captured

Hi Jim...nice job on the composition here..you brought out the height well be leaving space above the red roof...nice work.

Roger

A very striking subject - beautifully captured. The geometry of light and shadow and windows and roof on this house works so beautifully together. Add to that the framing effect of the two buildings on either side, and the magnificence of the mountain beyond it, and you have a postcard-worthy shot!
Great job

Hello Jim,

I am so impressed with this scene!
Light and shadow is the perfect title; it shows on the focal building but it also shows on the two walls that you have used to frame your shot.
Excellent focus accompanied by a good dof.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Bonjour

hi Jim

Oh Swiss landscape!

A shot that I would like to shoot, with mountain in the BG and street scenery at the FG. I have seen similiar scenery at the Rockies stretching from Canada in the north to USA in the south.

I like very much the vertical format that shows no visible distortion of vertical lines. The light+shadow effect is superbly done.

So nice too to see your include of such details as the lamp and sprout of flower at the edge of wall.

Great work.

tfs, bill

Hi Jim,
Browsing your beautiful gallery, I found this wonderful house like a true jewel which would be inset by the imposing mountain and the two edges of the narrow street. This house shines under the oblique ray of light offering its flowered facades at the heat of sun!
The composition is perfectly done and the contrast with shadows and light enhances really the depth of this superb image. Congratulations! Annie

Hi Jim,
the crop and subject matter.. plus the well chosen POV all give this image very attractive character.
Well done. Best regards, Daniel
