[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is Bern railway station. whilst waiting for a train to take us to Geneve. Most of the station is underground and lit by sodium lighting giving a very dark and erie feel. in this shot I have tried to show the contrast between the dark station and the very bright outside. comments welcome.

Hi Ron,

I like this kind of almost documentary photography, where an interesting image is made from people in their day to day life so, firstly, nice choice of subject.

Composition is good, and i lke the way that we are indeed drawn outwards and upwards towards the light from the stairways.

The exposure is also well judged, giving just what you were after, showing us detail both in the dark interior and the light beyond.

All this with just the right amount of sharpness.

Great shot!

Nigel

Ha !

Ron , I do not know what to say . It is a gorgeous shot. I just love the mood and the shadows. The image is crystal clear despite the difficult light conditions. Perfect light management to me. The train , the passengers leaving the dock. Everything is spot on to me. Then I see, you have only one comment after 178 views.

.... I do not understand. We may be we are three off the track (^_^)

Keep on the good work !
Sincerely,
Robert

PS. I apologize myself, since I do post in the morning before going to work, and post critiques and comments in the evening after work. So I often do not have the opportunty to go through all images submitted daily . Mea Culpa !
