Detail - 1 it's the first picture of my new short series: Architectural Details.
Detais - 1: Sculpture on the frontage of Dominican church in Lviv (Western Ukraine). My name of this sculpture: "Where Are You Going".

The Lviv Dominican church and monastery is located in the city's Old Town, east of the market square. It was originally built as the Roman Catholic church of Corpus Christi, and today serves as the Greek Catholic church of the Holy Eucharist. In 1749 Józef Potocki laid the corner-stone for the present day Baroque church, commonly attributed to Jan de Witte. The church was consecrated in 1764 by the Latin archbishop of Lviv Wacław Hieronim Sierakowski. The Dominicans managed to safely survive through the reign of the Austrian emperor Joseph II, who closed many other monasteries. In 1865 a neo-baroque bell tower was added to the complex. In the years 1885-1914 a controversial renovation of the facade and interior was carried out.
After World War II the complex was occupied by soviets, used as warehouse and in the 1970s changed into a museum of religion and atheism. With the collapse of the soviet union the church was given to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and now serves as a parish church, the monastery however has not been returned yet and still serves as a museum (renamed as the museum of religion)./from wikipedia/

Fotografia - Detal - 1 jest pierwszą z planowanej krótkiej serii: Detale architektoniczne. Detal odgrywa w architekturze ogromną rolę. Często nie dostrzegamy finezji anonimowych niekiedy twórców, którzy zdobili w dawnych wiekach wielkie budowle.
Pierwsza fotografia pokazuje rzeźbę na frontonie wspaniałej barokowej budowli jaką jest Kościół OO. Dominikanów pod wezwaniem Bożego Ciała we Lwowie (obecnie greckokatolicka cerkiew pod wezwaniem świętej Eucharystii). Rzeźbę nazwałem na swój prywatny użytek: "Dokąd idziesz".
Losy kościała i klasztoru Dominikanów były burzliwe, podobnie jak dzieje całej Ziemi Lwowskiej. Pierwszy kościół Dominikanie wznieśli we Lwowie już w XIII wieku. Obecnie istniejąca świątynia powstała w połowie XVIII wieku kosztem Józefa Potockiego (hetmana wielkiego koronnego). Kościół jest najwspanialszą budowlą barokową Lwowa. Po II Wojnie Światowej w świątyni mieściło się między innymi "muzeum religii i ateizmu". Po przemianach politycznych końca XX wieku budowlę powierzono ukraińskiej społeczności grekokatolików.

Hi Slawek,
Perfect capture of this sculpture in the Ukraine, brightness is excellent as well as sharpness on the whole shot. Clarity is good too, and the vivid blue at he top makes it a bright composition despite he geyish tones of the subject. Well done! TFS.

Wspaniale wyglada ta postac na tle czesciowo blekitnego nieba i cienie, ktore poukladaly sie na niej w bardzo ciekawy sposob.

I like the angle the shot was taken with the hand as if pushing the clouds out of the way.The light hitting to show the details.
I would be tempted to clone out the modern lamp at the bottom, but that is just my opinion.

Ladnie ujales te figurke na tle blekitnego nieba. A zeby calkiem nie poddac sie mistyce troche obecnej technologii w postaci lampy podswietlajacej.Fajnie.
