| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The sunday we were in Ukraine, we visited a church in a small village, Stepan. It was a fairy-tale like village with horse-and-wagon and colourfully painted houses. We had dinner in a small yardhouse, you can see it in the workshop.
It was a lovely afternoon and we had a good time with the pastor and his wife and children. This picture and its title refer to this good time, but it brings along two emotions.
On one hand it's great to have such a good time with people in a country so far from home, but on the other hand this country misses so many things in opportunities and development. That makes me, a rich western-europe student, a bit ashamed. I've learned to appreciate small things and also to see beauty in the shade of life.
Look around and you'll find beauty in the shade! |

Hi Mariet,
Perfect use of the shallow DOF. The yellow flower is in nice contrast with the green background. An attractive posting with the nice wide white frame in my opinion. Well done.
