How close would you dare get to this sleeping Lion?

This was shot through glass from quite a distance. This Lion must have been dreaming about the hunt, I say that because he's dribbling!!

Have a great weekend and a good Easter.

Hello Alan,
Very pleasant close-up portrait of the big cat!
Excellent details, just look at the nose...
Interesting expression captured but I don't think I'll try to interpret!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Alan,

Not as close as this looks! Great shot! very sharp and clear, close enough to see the scars. Love it!

Annetta

Beautiful shot Alan. Well cxropped, great detail. Wonderful...
Tomasz

Great close-up. You did great. It seems as if you were srtanding at the side of the feline when you took teh picture. The model is not bad itself. If it weren't a lion I would already have kissed it. Happy Easter to you, too. Yvonne

Hi Alan!
Even if it was through glass and from a quite distance, the picture looks great and it seems from so close! The lion's expression is great!
Congratulations.
Luci

Well captured. Good detail and exposure spot on. Half a mile is close enough for me!!!
Barry

Sir Alan,

Sooo cute, ya just want to kiss it. LOL Excellent shot and well done on the composition and details.

Mike

Definately not this close!!! Lol...wow!!! He is drooling!!! Perhaps he he had glanced your way before the shot and was imagining a tasty morsel.
Excellent clarity, great details, textures and colors, I know shooting through glass is a challenge...well done!
TFS,
Happy Easter
Fran

I would say... It's depending how deep sleep the lion and how strong is the objectif... I see your's go till 500mm :)
Not crazy as a "JackAss" i don't know if they are popular in england... But at least your a wise to stay away...
But excellent close-up! THe details of that big cat are well showed!

This is about as close as you need to be!
Great closeup shot!

This is an awesome shot Alan! The detail is so clear that it feels like I could touch him and pet him. Now that he's sleeping, he just looks like a big cat trying to enjoy a good wink...
