[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi everybody

I have posted this pic in the hope it will get workshoped. It is a pic of Bristol Bridge, Which I have posted on Trekearth, in BW, and it got some good critiques.
But I think the orignal colour version needs some wrk.
I have edited it a few times and I have think I have gone as far as I can with it,I'm sure your results will prove me wrong!
I would really like some input on how to capture the pic better in the first place! is the white balance wrong! why does it have the orange tint!
I look forward to your critiues and workshops on the pic, and i will do the same when I am as capable as you guys.

Regards
Martin

Hi Martin
Do like the colours, the exposure is in my eyes spot on, I imagine you used a tripod.
I hope Daniel( eyesthetix ) make a comment, his images of this type a amazing.

Gil

Hi Martin,
It looks good to me, I think you have done a good job, I like the POV, the orange colour would be from the street lighting and in my opinion it gives the picture a warm feel.
Well done
Regards Andy

Hola Martin,
en muy agradable esta postal,
los tonos son magníficos,
buen trabajo,
saludos

Hi - I critiqued this on TE. I think it's an alright shot of the bridge, as I use to live in a building next to it I did a wkshop to show what I think is more of true colours ;-)

Hello Martin,

Looks like you're getting a good start with this photo. It's interesting and I like the nightime image.

I'm sure people will make suggestions as time goes on. I'm not much of a technician myself so I can't be of much help in the regard. I mostly post for fun and "do the best I can" with a simple camera.

Good luck!

Richard

Hi Martin,

Welcome to TrekLens. I really like your night photo - the colors, the reflections, the bridge itself, even the bus traveling over it, plus the background buildings, all make for a very pleasing image.

Personally, I don't think it needs any correcting as I like the warm glow.

To answer your question about the white balance and the orange tint, it is caused by the sodium vapor street lights which, unlike tungsten light that also produces a yellowish cast, do not produce a full spectrum of color. They produce only a yellowish glow. In-camera, this can be corrected with a blue or magenta filter. In Photoshop, using one of the Photo Filters, you can accomplish the same thing in post-production.

I have posted a quick workshop adjusting the yellow cast slightly.

Well done, and keep posting!

Cheers,
- Bob
