The Cathedral Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity is the Church of England cathedral in the city of Bristol, England, and is commonly known as Bristol Cathedral. Founded in 1140, it became the seat of the bishop and cathedral of the new Diocese of Bristol in 1542.

Located on College Green, across which its architecture can be seen to advantage, the cathedral presents a harmonious view of tall Gothic windows and pinnacled skyline that belies the fact that it was constructed over a period of more than 700 years.

The cathedral has much of interest including unique architectural features, unusual memorials and a historic organ.

ciekawe miejsce, trochę zabrakło światła, znam ten ból :-) fajny kadr - pozdrowienia Piotrek !

Hi Hans,
Nice POV and composition. The sky and church look nice and bright, would have preferred a slightly brighter FG but that's just a personal preference. Good sharpness and DOF from f/11, suitable crop and presentation too.

TFS,
Scott.

Hello Hans,

You have taken great advantage of the tree-lined path in your chosen pov, making it emerge from the corner is good composition. It pleases me to see the cathedral peeping from behind the trees although I do agree with Scott about the brightness of the f/g.

Kind regards,
bev :-)

A very attractive pov and the pathway adds depth. I really like the lighting on the church and the framing by the trees. Nice colors and detail. TFS

Howdy Hans,
As we spoke about this image in msn I told you what I think about the colors. I think you overdid just a tad on the saturation in the sky. I have seen the original image and I really think there's nothing wrong with the colors and saturation in that. So if looks right, why make any changes in Photoshop?
In the original the foreground can be adapted just a bit, and the whole image looks so much better then!
Anyway; I really like this kind of shot. The trees and path make a nice introduction to the church in the background.
A lovely composition.
And in the original version I really like the colors and contrast!

Cheers!
Anneke

This is a very impressive photo of this magnifcant church. i liek the inclusion of the trees, but a pity that the sun was just absent.
Best wishes,
Achim

Hallo Hans,

Mooie compositie weer, de kathedraal licht mooi op en de wolkenlucht geeft het net dat extraatje mee.
Mooi en Engels,

Hello Hans,
I like your POV for this image, having the Cathedral soar above the treelined pathway, also how the pathway leads us into the image. I ,like Scott find the image too dark & question why you would choose a 1/320 sec shutter speed? as it looks like a bright day.The cathedral detail could be a tad sharper IMHO,have done a WS to show my points, hope you don't mind.
Regards
Ron

The pathway and your pov, create

Hello Hans,
Just a friendly advice: your monitor is not calibrated or it`s dying because even on my brand-new one,not to mention on other, older monitor, the image is too dark.
Another thing I`ve noticed is that the use of a gaussian blur on your mask when darkening the sky is quite visible around the tower of the church and where the light area meets the dark areas of the photo, near the high-contrast edges.
Despite the exposure problems, the composition can compensate for a half a smiley:)...I`ll make up to you for this later:)
Thank you,
Nelu
