St. Mary Redciffe of Bristol

Here the interior of the Bristol Cathedral St. Mary Redcliffe. Since I didn't had my tripod with me I had to take this picture hand hold, with the lowest shutter speed possible and the smallest aperture going along with it without increasing the ISO too much (used 800 ASA).
Anyway, in CS3 I increased the brightness a bit and also the contrast (both 20%) also adjusted the highlights and shadows (+3%)

Next time I will use my tripod, I promise!

Impressive shot Hans, I really like the concept of the shot mostly the POV and the warm atmosphere that created by soft light. At 1/25sec. still managable for handheld since you're having a short focal length lens, but of course tripod still the best for low light situation.

Well composed.

Buddy

Hello Hans,

Beautiful control of the light for this composition of interior full with colors and well returned contrasts.
Good work

Laurent

Hello Hans
Given the 1/25 this is amazingly sharp. I like the flowers in the fg, and the overall light is great too. The lens has kept the perspective well.
Regards, Leslie

Hello Hans,
I'd like to visit this place one day,
it looks amazing.
Excellent shot, quality is amazing.

Best regards from Canada, Kelsey

Ahhh wonderful details you have captured in this shot Hansie! LOVE the flower bouquet, it's super sharp, along with the rest of the building! I see Canuck popped in on your page too, interesting. Out of 25,000 members of TL, she finds us! HAHA!
Excellent work my friend!

Beautiful composition and perspective i must say with admirable details and clarity and just the right amount of light as well.
Lovely composition...nice job!
Congrats and thanks for sharing
Cheers!

hi bro.
i wish my images were as sharp as this even when i use my tripod.

i really like the low pov on this. the flowers are a great lead in to this, most beautiful, cathedral.
England has many, stunning, cathedrals. if possible you must visit Canterbury and York.
it would be better if you visited Glasgow cathedral then we could take a few snaps together.

take care Bro.
Brian

Hans, This is an amazing shot! You have captured the lighting perfectly. The details of the cathedral are magnificent and sharp. You certainly have a steady hand to get it this sharp. Good for you!!! Nice post processing work. :) Lisa

Beautifully shot - the levels, colours, sharpness and dynamic range are all beautifully captured. I like the composition with the flowers in the fore leading to the huge vaulted ceiling beyond.
This works!

Hi Hans,
Excellent clarity for a hand-held shot, the colours have come out very well. Nice choice with the vertical crop, looks like a great old building to photograph. The details look impeccable, impressive capture.
