St. Mary Redcliffe's interior

Here another view of the Bristol cathedral St. Mary Redcliffe.
After uploading a second "church" impression it might look I have become religious again. Although I still like religious buildings it doesn't make me a saint. Anyway despite the low light I didn't want to spoil the warm light with my flash, so used the natural light in the church showing an almost golden glow of the cathedral's ceiling.

Again no tripod used hand held 1/25 sec with f/8.0 aperture and 800ASA.

Hi Hans,
Another stunning shot of the church showing a bit more of that beautiful ceiling - again for 800ASA the image is brilliantly crisp and the colours fantastic, the people in the pews add a bit to the scene also.

very nice photos of St Marys,i have lived in Bristol all my life and still have not photographed the interior of this church.
i must make an effort to go there.
did you notice the steel girder in the church yard sticking up in the ground, its a relic from a German bombing raid in 1940,part of a tram rail that was blown through through the air and landed there.
nice photos of RIAT been there a few times and always lots to photograph.

Hi Hans,
Beautiful architetcture,well done.
Best regards,
Ralf

Hello Hans,
What a coincidence that I was inside a cathedral yesterday - but it was not a good photo day. This looks great considering the tech settings chosen and for being handheld. The glowing dome is well featured, the baroque looking columns are massive, and the inclusion of worshippers add extra appealing element. Greetings!
Danilo

Hi Hans,
really sharp details & hand held at 1/25 sec, very impressive.
There is no noise visible & I thought there might be, due to the 800 ISO,so I guess the D300 does not have the noise problem of the D80s at high ISO settings?I like your POV it lets us have a good feeling of the churches interior architecture, great natural colors with no overexposure in any of the highlights, well done.

Hi Hans,
This photo keeps the quiet and meditative ambience of this sumptuous cathedral.
You did a very good work with the metering of your camera. Excellent clarity, no noise nor distorsion and gorgeous colors.

ne güzel bir konpozisyon, harika detay ve çekim...eline sağlık..selamlar

Your photo shows just how big this place is! HUGE! I love the off center comp, it keeps your eyes moving across the frame! Dang good for handheld Hansie! You must have steady hands, or had plenty of Lager that day! HAHA! You are not a saint? I do not believe that! HAHA!
Nice work Hans!

Another very beautiful view of this interior. It's huge!!! I like that you were able to capture these people as well, which gives a nice atmosphere. I do wish we had such fantastic architecture in my corner of the world. Nice sharp detail and lovely color. TFS

Hi Hans,

Hand held at 1/25 of a second, hmmm but with a focal lenght of 18mm, it quite manageble...althought you have to hold your breath..)))) don't forget to restart the lung...)))

I do like this image very much, it does have some aspect of Hdr treatement, but obviously it doesn't have any.

Well composed and reveal superb details of that church. Impeccable exposure and contrast. Excellent control over shadows and highlights, specially in the stainglass window at the right.

Nice work.

Your ajusting is not the easiest in the world Hans, but the result is good indeed.
Theres a lot to see,and the people are giving a good impression of the size and perspectives.

Hi Hans,
Quite an impressive picture of the interior of this church, actually I've always wanted to share such churches from inside on TrekLens, but unfortunately I can't hold such shutters from hand. Good job at 1/25, architectural details are well seen, sharpness is remarkable as well. TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

Looks good, you captured the atmosphere nicely, well composed and all the vertical lines are shown without distortion.

Zie dat je een nieuwe camera hebt. Groot verschil hé van de D70 naar deze?

grtjs,
Pedro
