Good morning peeps

A little play on words with the title this morning as we all know the poem is about a duckling.. and maybe he is not so ugly really either.

A little older than the Goslings in my images over the last few days. This is one of the large gaggle being cared for by foster parents. As I mentioned before when they reach a certain age it seems they all group together and just a couple of adult geese care for a large nursery of youngsters.

His feathers are starting to change here and he is loosing that lovely soft yellowy down in favour of this drab grey juvenile plumage.

I guess he is still quite cute looking except for those legs... dont they remind you of minature elephants legs all wrinkled and grey like that?

As you can probably guess I was pretty much laying on the floor to get this shot and it was quite funny trying to capture a shot and dodge the Goose do dos all over the grass at the same time....oops too much information there Smurfie! ... Oh well peeps you know me, tell it like it is lol.

Have a great day and I hope your all coming up with some good ideas for the "Sound" theme this week

TTFN regards Smurfie

"A goose? Me, a goose? Go on!!!"
(I loved that story - I used to listen to it on the radio many years ago)

What thick legs he has, Helen!!! It must be a guy goose. He stands so proudly and steadily, and you show him well.

Good job!
Janice

I'm deeply hurt with your comments about my buttercup shot but this is a fine shot of the chicken. Lovely detail and nicely framed.
Don't work too hard

Hi Helen,
This is a cracking shot, you have captured him so well. Good detail and DOF.
I know what you mean about getting down and having to watch out for the do dos! but this shot was well worth it.

Hi Helen
Hes gorgeous - not ugly at all.
You've managed to capture all the wrinkles on his little legs too.
Lovely detail and so sharp and clear.

Hi Helen
He is rather cute and he certainly can't look worse than a heron once he is grown up.
Great shot, and hopefullly your clothes remained intact.
Dot

Hello Helen. Beautifully closed on this juv. I like the fine hairy feathers exposed brilliantly and very pleasant perch against the green background. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Wow, what is this girl, Ugly. Only her stockings i like.
Ok, Her eyes are gorgeous, but sure she needs a new dress.
Very nice captured, Helen.
We have a big problem here, the swan family (8 cygnets, see before) are daily at least 3 / 4 times at front of my house. Soon i look through the window they raise, when i come home with the car hey come out of the water.
Cant ignore them, have to feed them. Not funny anymore.! haha
Best wishes from Jan

Maybe an ugly one now, but it will grow as a king of goose ... or a queen.

Great pose.
Nice and still.

Thomas
