As the new airshow season approaches, i thought I'd upload a memory from the past.
Here's a DC3 Douglas Dakota in it's D-Day livery preparing for a memorial fly past at last years airshow at Duxford, celebrating it's 90th anniversary.
I went for a real tight crop for this one. Displaying just enough of the aircraft to show what it is and show the famous black and white markings on the wing and fuselage.
Because of the tight crop and relatively long fuselage, i chose an f8 aperture to keep the subject in focus from tail to nose.
To take us back in time, i've totally desaturated it, added sepia toning and noise for a more grainy effect.
Can't wait the season to start. Hopefully we won't get rained off this year!
Thanks for looking. |

Hello,
Woooow! Stunning shot!
It is nice to see DC3 Douglas Dakota :)
I saw it only on the static display a few years ago, I wish I could see it flying someday...
