Another of the Duxford series of shots, collected during the Warbirds Air-show earlier this year.

The Mustang screamed in low and fast for a strafing run demo.
The sight was awesome, and the screaming of the turbo along with the singing of the Merlin engine was breathtaking.

Not the best shot as far as tack sharp goes, but believe me, at the speed it was traveling head on, even the Canon 200mm was running short of breath keeping the auto-focus up to speed.
The ultra slow shutter speed to provide prop blur may have been against me for hand holding this one.

The profile of the plane and angle of the subject in the frame showing the classic 3/4 view of this beauty, along with the clear blue hole in the clouds that it's flying through makes me do the upload.

Metadata shows the camera settings, but as far as adjustments go, a slight and simple crop to remove unwanted space just to exaggerate the plane in the frame, then typical USM/resize for upload.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for looking

Martin

Really sharp and well exposed shot with nice prop blur

You used a great shutter speed that kept the details sharp but showed great movement in the propeller. Overall a nice image of this plane. TFS

Hi Martin, Good to see some of your fine aircraft photos for the first time today. This shows the plane from an exciting POV. Good clarity indeed. TFS. Murray.
PS It looked like a Spitfire which i enjoy seeing.

Hello,
Wow!!! Excellent shot of that beautiful Mustang!
Interesting POV, perfect sharpness, nicely blurred prop blades, lovely background.
