A nice job with the exposure considering the back lighting. B

Hello Ron!

Impressive shot for down under. Superb details and great luminsity. Well done!
Robert

Impressive! (Unless you had this guy domesticated first.) 200mm is not a whole lot of reach even on 1.6 crop camera. This means you must have gotten pretty close to the bird, even though it's hard to count it among the smallest ones. Besides, sunlight wasn't really in your favor and getting correct exposure is never easy in situations like this. Very good composition and sharpness. A really nice shot!
Congratulations,
Mark

Great quality of image. Initially, the bird is splendid. Then, the very good composition and the colors are clear. I see the relief in the plumage. And the framing adds for a large photograph! Congratulations Annie

Beautiful, crisp & very sharp portrait, Ron. I like the low contrast between the heron and the sky. The tree adds some contrast instead. Well done, TFS.
