[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a shot of an Eagle Owl's eye, which was part of a display team, working at the Cheshire Horse Fair in May 2007.
I have photos of the whole bird and a photo of it's whole side head profile, but I enlarged and cropped the eye on its own to see the result.
I am quite happy with it, although I am sure I could have got it a bit sharper.
That's me and my ex wife's little boy in reflected in the eye.
I have posted a couple of photos of this beautiful bird on my Treknature pages.
The Eagle Owl has made a steady comeback in the UK over the last few years and it has been under severe pressure from game keepers and other moronic wildlife killers.
The RSPB unbelievably tried to say that it was not a natural species for the UK and allowed ity to go un-protected for a long time before actually waking up and finally stop bending to pressure from game bird estates and classifying it as a naturalised UK species.
The Eagle Owl left the UK for a few centuries and came nback of its own choice.
If a wild creature makes its own decision to come here then it has to be a natural occurrence. If it is introduced by man, then it is un-batural, as far as I am concerned.
Some country walkers have complained about being "buzzed" by Eagle Owls when they are walking out in the countryside.
Well if they are so upset at such things maybe they should stay at home.
Personally, I would find it an excellent experience.
Just like when I was buzzed by a pair of Great Skuas when I was in the Shiant Islands.
Another beautiful bird.

Regards

Roy

Hi Roy,
This is a nice tight crop of this beautiful birds eye. I think your right you could have made this a bit sharper as you have lost a little of the clarity of the feathers around the eye. I would love to see a picture of the whole bird.
I am of the same thinking as you about the walkers if they dont like it stay at home. I would love to see them in the wild and in full flight.

Jane
