| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi,
Another in the series taken last weekend whilst walking in the Lake District. This shot is taken from quite near the spot where I took the shot I posted yesterday, and it is looking south across the lake to the Scafell Massif. It is a wider shot and I have managed to capture most of the major fells that are at the head of Wasdale. Yewbarrow is the fell directly ahead and the others from left to right are, Kirk Fell, Great Gable, Lingmell, Scafell Pike and Scafell.
A very obvious feature of this shot is the red grass which you often get on boggy wet ground in the Lake District. I am sure this is nature's way of warning you of boggy ground ahead! It provides a wonderful hue when walking on the tops and saves you from getting your feet wet!!
It also provides a lovely colour for the foreground of my shot and a lovely contrast to the clear blue sky. The only element missing is the water of the lake, which is down in the valley bottom. The small amount of water in amongst the red grass helps a little though.
Hope you like the scene,
Take Care,
John |
