Hello Everyone,

Well today is my anniversary!
It is exactly one year since I posted my first shot on TrekLens and was the beginning of a love affair with my camera!

It just doesn't feel like 1 year - more like a few months - and yet it has been forever!

Today I am posting a shot of beautiful little robin that I captured last weekend using my Nikon.
I have chosen this shot because my name is ROBINson and the robin is my favourite little bird. This particular one was fluffed up warm against the cold winter wind. He looked like a little ball on legs!

May I take this opportunity to thank all TrekLens members who have offered feedback to me over the year. You have certainly helped me to see the world in a new and more exciting way! With gentleness you have pointed out my mistakes and with unselfish praise you have marked my improvements!
For anyone who is new to TrekLens, I hope you get as much enjoyment and support from this site as I have!
Good luck!

Many thanks for your visit.
Please continue to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph! :-)

Hi Bev,
Congratulations on your 1st anniversary on TL, the first of many I hope.
The Robin is also my favourite of the small bird world, you have captured the colours well here and I like the position and pose of the Robin, the image does seems to lack sharpness though In My Opinion.
Regards Andy

Hello, Bev.

Now he's a nice fat little fellow. Well, I'm not sure if it's a boy or a girl - apparently even robins themselves have a bit of difficulty recognising who is what, if you know what I mean.

You were very lucky indeed managing to get a shot as sharp as this, taking it at 1/50 sec on a focal length of 300mm. I presume it was pretty dull, because your lens was fully open at f/5.6. Perhaps you could have upped the ISO a little - your Exif data doesn't tell me what that was. You must have a very steady hand; or, perhaps, you used a tripod.

Oh, I see you use Photoshop Elements 6 - I just bought myself a copy but haven't loaded it onto my computer yet. At the moment, I use PSE 2 - is version 6 a lot better?

Anyway, nice shot. Have a happy anniversary - you've done very well to put so many pictures on here (and TE) in such a short time.

Kind Regards,

John.

Well done Bev, you have come through with flying colours, nice capture of the Robin, he has puffed himself up in the cold, mind you it could be a girl they are both the same.

Thanks

Gil.G

Congratulations on your first year Bev. The bird does look a bit chilly, well composed with good colour and detail. I am so used to the red breasted robin and I was staggered to find out that there numerous colours in the robins down here in Tasmania. TFS,
David

Hi Bev, lovely robin with splendid colors, great details, very well done, have a good week end, ciao Silvio
