Strictly speaking this lad is on no wheels at this moment!
I took this ages ago when I first got the photography bug. I went out into Carlisle on a saturday shopping day taking my Olympus ultra zoom with me, determined to get a few pictures...paparazzi style. Then of course, I knew little about the effects that using the zoom could achieve while taking a picture like this and so this was point and shoot in sports mode. Now I know I could have stood further back using my zoom to bring the background into softer focus. The police are waiting for the away fans to reurn from a Carlisle F.C match and board their homeward train. The lad was just larking about with a group of mates and practicing hopping the barrier on his bike. I missed a couple of shots and so asked if he would mind doing it again for my benefit and he was happy to oblige (but managed to keep a cool nonchalence).
Hope its not cheating uploading a picture taken a while ago.

Hiya Bev

Well this shot is excellent, nice sharp image and lots of movement, Yes he looks very cool and I like the addition of the police in the BG. Its fine to post a picture taken as long ago as you like. the reason i say only a new upload is that many people have a variety of shots already in their gallery and its only fair that new posting are added to the theme.

TFS and for joining in the theme

kind regards Helen

Hi Bev,
Well timed shot ... well captured action photo. I like how you portrayed the scene with the youth of today and the police. Image and color quality is also good. Well done! tfs

Renier

Love the cigarette in his mouth - that's real cool!
Good shot Bev, using that sport mode can be very helpful in action shots like this. The busy BG is fine - it's part of the action!!
Cheers
Janice

Fine shot, I admire the impertinence of your friend there doing these antics under the nose of the police!

I quite like the yellow in the background, highlighting the young man’s jump, Bev. There is lots of fun colour and you have stopped the action very well. He looks very serious about the jump, but the cigarette is not good for his althletic future. Great for the theme.

Wanda

He's a star, Bev!
No wheels and a cigarette in his mouth too!
Bet he can walk on water!

You have done really well with this action shot! It is extremely sharp and well timed!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Bev, I still have problems with my Olympus UZ and zooming. Good timing, well composed and nice detail and if he wasn't enough you always have the 2 sets of two wheels in the background. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘City Park IX’

Hi Bev
Ages ago you said? That was back in 2007 in April, not that long ago.
that is a good shot of BMX stunt. In fact, he is not on two wheels, we just hope he lands on two wheels. Good contribution to the theme.

Hello, Bev.

A fabulous action shot here - very well captured - you must have used a very fast shutter speed here. As you say, it might have been slightly better had the background been out of focus a little less distracting but, nonetheless, it's a fantastic shot. Quite amusing that this fellow, obviously quite fit and athletic, is performing his stunts with a cigarette firmly grasped between his lips!

Excellent!

Kind Regards,

John.

P.S. A great one for the theme.

Hi Bev
He is on two wheel even though the two wheels are in the air. Good contribution. Well captured and composed. No one is really paying much attention to him.

Dan
Thanks for the visit, much appreciated.

Hello Bev,

Nice shot of this friday theme. Well captured stunt against the backdrop of the bobbies. Well framed and thanks for sharing.

Jusni
