Hi Beverley,
It is refreshing to see an image that hasn't been twisted in Photoshop...(look who's talking).
It looks very much like a Joshua Tree, we have one here in Pukekohe, and the branches grow anyway which.
Cheers,
Pete.

Good Morning Bev, I was looking at twisted trees too. And I knew I had one that really suited the theme but I can't find it!!
The trees looks as it the last storm broke the branches from the tree. What amazing gnarled and tristed branches they are.
Good shot for the theme

Hello Beverley,
Old trees grow in mysterious ways!
This one has most likely seen its best days, but I spot a few in the background vivid and alive...
Nice place, and you make the best out of the fine spring light!

Okay lesson learned. The wood management -years ago- cleaned the woods of dead wood, but now they just leave it where it falls as long as the foot paths remain accesible. And indeed the fauna seems to like it that way.
Hi Bev,
Yes they sure look twisted to me and the moss growing on them gives an extra nice touch to make it even more photogenic (I was already wondering if that was an english word - we use the same word - very confusing).
TFS both picture and note,
Els

Hi Bev,
Seems the name of this tree is 'twisted tree" . . Observed at the far end, also shows the twisted branches . .
Definitely it fits with this week theme . .

Really fine entry into the theme, Bev!
My one and only request would be for a deeper blue (but then that seems to be my theme song today!!

I agree Beverley. The natural twisted shapes of trees are better than anything man can dream up and driftwood is always interesting. Nice work.

A lovely composition of the dead wood and the wonderful Windermere scene. Well suited to the theme and a good message to people who do not know NOT to remove dead wood from the environment. I like all the triangles in this shot that make up the excellent composition as well as the contrasts in colours.
