Hello everyone, here is my contribution for Fridays theme.
I like taking pictures of walls, stonework etc., so this theme suited me.
Last weekend we visited Renishaw Hall in Derbyshire. This piece of wall is a part of "The Arch in the Park", a folly in the grounds of the Hall.
This is a part of the wall of the inner arch;the weathering of the sandstone had created these lovely textures.I particularly liked the cobwebs,a perfect home for spiders in all the nooks and crannies of this wall.

Thanks for looking,I am looking forward to seeing all the entries.

Hi Jean
Nice image. Really love the contours in the sandstone, which
seem to lead the eye from one part to the next part. Nice colours, and good sharpness.

I love old buildings!

Cheers
HM

Hi Jeam, this is an interesting wall, I do like how it has weathered. And there's lots of places for the spiders and other creatures to live in
Good one for the theme

Hello, Jean.

.......and a very fine contribution it is too!

Excellent!

The textures and colours here are superb - you can clearly see that this wall has been built of the very softest sandstone and the stone has worn away quicker than the mortar. You can almost feel the stone and its softness - I really want to prod it with my finger to see if it crumbles!

A lovely shot indeed.

Best Wishes,

John.

Fascinating details, with dusty spiderwebs and weathered gaps in this wall. Wonderful textural features and color tones, enhanced by the light and shadows. Great shot!
