Hello everyone, here we are in the grounds of Renishaw Hall.
A walk through the woods and down the hill, you reach the lake and this sawmill.
Originally it would have been powered by water, but later in its' life it was powered by a steam engine, that burnt straw.
I was rather taken by the wonderful chimney which still stands tall, and the fine decoration in its' brickwork.
Notice in the background a touch of blue from the bluebells which carpeted the ground at the time of our visit.

Thanks for your visit.

I love these old buildings lost in nature, there is a fantastic aspect, in this image.
Your POV is also interesting because with the hill at the rear, nature seems to dominate this old industrial construction.
Maybe a black frame would highlight your image. I also hope that you have anothers images of this building it's an good subject to harness.

A good picture,
Thx for sharing.

What a photo opportunity! Great place, and nicely captured with good greenish light temp and plenty of intrigue as we look past these saplings at the old mill.

Hi Jean
So many mills have been abandoned yet this one still looks in pretty good condition. The chimney is most unusual but beautiful.
Love the capture of the old fence and the hill in the back gives it that look of security.
Nice shot

Hi Jean

Good composition.
Nice buildings, like the details of the chimney.

Hello Jean,
An interesting documentary of this once important business!
In Norway every farmer who owned forest also had a sawmill, water powered since we have a lot of hills hehehe...
And I notice the large chimney, obviously added later!
This is a lovely composition, fine details and attractive vivid colours and it is interesting how you manage to show how nature is about to take back this location!
Greetings,

Hi Jean

The chimney is rather fine, great looking old building. The setting is lovely as well with the lush greens and smattering of blue

Jean,

This is a lovely shot. It almost seems like it could be easily rennovated by simply removing some of the growth that's encroached. Decadence (in the sense of deterioration, decay) is a very interesting subject in general.

Clear, clean shot with great color and a fine detail of the chimney. I would have had a great time here!!!

Kind regards,
Jim

A lush display of greens Jean. Very well composed and fine all over detail. I was going to say that the stack leans but then the front of the building is level. TFS,
David

Beautiful landscape.
