Pure poetry, Jean!
The power of nature and the beauty of ancient architecture united in one picture.
You did a good job on light metering, which must not have been easy here. All colour nuances are perfectly rendered, even the green background (and in spite of the dark foreground).
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Hi Jean
Make this darker and it could look spooky.
This has good atmosphere, the texture of the walls and that bit of light makes it a nice composition

Jean, I do like this. What a super image - so natural and 'old'.
And this is inside looking out - shows how old it must be with the ivy growing inside - wonderful!!

Hi Jean,
I have a few shots like this too... taken in England.. they are just amazing, wonder how they look like in the oldern days... must be impressive... well captured, nice composition and textures,
Have a great weekend,
Cheers,
Sweety
Hi Jean,
Do I understand you correctly that there is a danger of falling rocks here? Is a folly a small building with no purpose other then being decorative on the grounds of a stately home?
The atmosphere this creates is wonderful with the plants taking over and the green mossy stones in the wall.
I just told my husband that I would not mind at all if we went to England to visit some of those mansions and preferably with a bit of fog in the morning, I hope we find the time, we would both rather enjoy that.
TFS this for me typical english picture.

Hi Jean,
Mother Earth is doing her best to reclaim this lovely old window that if she could speak would have many tales to tell.
Love the moss growing on the old brick walls and the ivy that has found its way inside this old forgotten room.

Hello, Jean :)
Windows are one of my favorite subjects too - this one is really amazing. I loved this combination of beauty of nature and beauty of old building, which makes atmosphere so mysterious, but relaxing in the same time.
Excellent work!

Lovely window indeed Jean.
The power of nature to recover lost land. It gives a wonderful atmosphere to the place. I have said it before to Silke, Everything is greener in England. (^_^)
Another proof here with those walls of stones and bricks, the forest, and plants invading the ruins. I love the square format used to reveal better your subject i.e. the window.
A superb catch . Well done.
Cheers!

Hi Jean,
Now that's a cool window! Seems as if it was taken straight from a Pre-Raphaelite painting. Great composition with wonderful shades of green and superb details. Excellent cadrage. Well seen & captured, congratulations!

Barbara
A really effective composition, a classic ruin. Superb control of the exposure to maintain details inside and not have the light through the window seem too harsh.
I hope you don't mind but I've created a ws to see what this would look like as a b&w picture.
Thanks for sharing

Jean,
Ahh, the joy of ruins - and the dissapointment of renovation.
Nice shot. The interior exposure is perfect and shows up the brickwork, ivy, and the greeny green wall on the right to perfection. Even through the window the exposure is still ok.
A nice little corner.
Regards
Colin
