| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
On the 31st of January the 100th British soldier was killed in Iraq.
Together, some of my fellow students and I made one hundred white crosses measuring about a foot high as a remembrance for those who died along side a protest we held to bring the troops home.
The next day we set off from our university building and took the crosses across town to the war memorial in plymouth where we planted them all.
It is a sad time for Britain and Iraq that the conflicts have continued as long as they have and that our troops have not returned yet. Leaving politics aside of why the war was. It is a shame when human life no matter where from. The official death toll for Iraqis is well over 28,000; this is a tribute to them as much as anyone else. May all who died rest in peace.
Little done to photos,
Increased green saturation cos the day was so overcast.
Upped the contrast a little.
Added border. |
