The snowdrop [Galanthus---the Greek 'gala' meaning milk and 'anthos' denoting flower].
Out walking just before the end of January, I was amazed to see this pretty little bunch of snowdrops flowering just at the edge of the footpath that we were on.
They seem to be flowering earlier each year; global warming or just a milder winter than usual?
Anyway I was reading about them and discovered that apparently if the weather stays cold, then they will flower for longer.
This hardy little flower has association with new life and hope.It reminds us that in the northern hemisphere Spring is just around the corner.
I have done very little PP work to this shot, I hope that you like it.
Thanks for looking. |

Hello Jean!
Nice to see a little bunch of snowdrops so early!
In southwestern Norway they can sometimees pop up in late january, but up here in Tromso I guess we have to wait for several months.
Its a sharp and fine picture, perhaps you could have chosen a closer and lower POV.
I made a workshop, hope you like it.

Regards, Jon.
