Hello everyone,as we were walking round the grounds of the Saltram estate on the Plym estuary,I was struck by the shadow from this tree.It reminded me of long fingers reaching out across the field.
All sorts of natural objects conjure up pictures through our vivid imaginations.
As my son walked past the computer, he said that he could see a face in the clouds!
Whatever you can see, please enjoy the view.
And thanks for looking.

PP:adjusted levels, cropped, cloned out some the tops of some fence posts, resized and applied unsharp mask.

Hello Jean,

A very satisfying composition, with the FG right hand tree as a strong anchor - the furthest central tree contrasts with the clouds behind, it as it stands bang on the middle of that grassy slope.

Good natural framing by the branches, left and right, and a good balance between the blue of the sky above, and the green grass below.

The final touch of course is that enigmatic shadow on the grass, which leads the eye neatly up and over the slope.

Excellent colours and sharpness.

Regards,

Peter.

Oh my, Jean,
that a beautiful place. Wonderful light and shadow, marvelous clear color, pin sharp detail. I like the large tree to the right, too. Makes for very nice balance. Oh, that is SO pretty! What a lovely day that must have been. Many thanks and warm regards,
Shelly

I like the composition and the way that the shadow leads the eye into the centre of the picture. It definately captures that fresh feel of winter, without the ice and snow.
Thanks for sharing
Mark

p.s. I can see a face in the clouds too.

Looks like a lovely peaceful day for a walk. The light is very nice bringing out the texture in the trees and grass. TFS
warm regards
David

I love this Jean! The tree "hand" looks spooky!! I love the green and blue tones in this shot! It's very well done! There is a balance in this shot that is so nice! I can't put a finger on it, but it has something to do with the shadow curving around and leading your eye UP...and then around the sky and back down the tree, to start again! Nice work!
B-)

Hi Jean, oh please pardon the dreadful pun hygiene :)
This image conjures up Harry Potter trees and shadows...here I go again.
I'd better quit while I'm ahead.
Pete.

Hello Jean,

I saw this earlier and had run out of 'credit' so waited to give it a critique.

You have made superb use of the light and shadows, which is so important in photogphy. I love how the f/g tree appears to be pointing towards the other trees.
The whole shot is pin sharp and very well balanced.
I think this is one of your best, my friend.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Jean

i can see the trees being alive! ( at least thats what i imagine when i gave this a look)
