Very close to where we now live there is a National Trust property, Saltram House.
I have posted pictures from the house and grounds before.
As we are members of the Trust, it means that we can visit the House and Gardens as often as we like for the cost of our annual subscription.
[Good value, if you like visiting houses, gardens, large estates and ancient ruins, amongst other delights.]

This shot as the title suggests, is from the summer house. It stands at one end of Saltram's gardens, and is hexagonal in shape.
I liked the shape of the windows and the shadow from the leaded windows.
The view through the window is of a part of the grounds and towards the Devon countryside.

Thanks for looking.

Hi, Jean,
that's a beautiful shot. I love views through windows and you've done a great job on this. Wonderful light and contrast, lovely graphics and shadows and I love the angle from which you shot. Really pretty beyond the window, too. Ever so nice. Many thanks and kind regrads,
Shelly

Hello, Jean.

What a beautifully clear image! Stunning detail and clarity. I love the clear geometric shapes of that window and I'm peering through it to see all that lies beyond.

Your note makes me think I definitely need to retire: I have had family membership of the National Trust for Scotland for several years but haven't actually managed to visit a property for about 3 years due to lack of time and opportunity - retirement might help me to correct that deficiency!

So, stunning sharpness and colours and spot-on exposure. Good composition too. And an interesting and informative note to accompany it.

Kind Regards,

John.

You got an incredible shot here Jean! I LOVE THIS! Excellent quality here, the sharpness is excellent, the exposure is spot on! It makes a nice feeling when I look at it! Beautiful light against the wall! I love it!

I surfed on Google to have more informations about this house, I found that that this is there where is the beautiful "Sense and Sensibility" was filmed!
Your phoro is so good! Not easy to shoot against the light ! I like the contrast with the dark foreground and the clear view on the outdoor! Beautifully done! Annie

Hello Jean,

I was going to give this a critique last night but realised that I was out of smilies so saved it to post today.

This is a delightful shot, combining light and shade with great artistry.
The angled pov allows us to see the beauty of the shadow patterns on the pale wall, as wella senjoy the shape and pattern on the windows. And, there is still the interesting view outside.
I reall like how the darkness of the room makes a natural, contrasting border.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Jean,
Windows always make great subjects because of the tricks they can play with the outside light.
This one not only gives us a glimpse of the lovely green grounds but also very tranquil shadows from the ornate trim.
Regards, Tom
