Two ropes securing a boat.

This was originally a colour image, but it contained very little colour. So I converted it to black and white, which seems more effective here.

An excellent idea and an excellent result, you made a photography of a great quality IMHO.

Nice shot, Steve! Great contrast between the planks and the rope. Nice sharpness giving the picture a nice depth. Great job!

Great contrasts in direction of the wood and rope. I like this cross-lile symmetry.
Very good to show it in B&W. The sailorman is an artist as well.

Very nice B&W picture with good contrast, Steve. I also like your close crop which make for a simple but effective composition. Well done!

Hello Steve,

Welcome to TL. You have already a fan, if you like as much as me the maritime world. Good choice to use the B&W.

I hope you will have as much fun as me to share photos, critics, comments, workshops with fellow members.

Cheers!
Robert

Almost perfectly symmetrical shot. Great job!

as a forager of rope find I these terribly. Both in colour and in compositie. Very nicely seen and done. He in the topic is possible of "links knots and rope".

This works very well as black and white, and I particularly like the detail in the rope. Well seen, well captured!

Superb work Steve , very graphidc, I love the wood and rope texture.

Steph.

it is perfect in b/w 10/10
Christine.

Steve,
I really like this. It's almost an optical illusion because I got dizzy looking into the rope rolled up in a circle. Awesome composition and perfect conversion to B&W. I have noticed lately that single subject photo's seem to do well with B&W as opposed to images with lots of different subjects in it. Isn't that strange?
I really think this is a photo to be proud of my friend,
Scott

Lovely tight composition with good contrast and sharpness.
Best wishes Mark
