Hello, Neil,
I think this is a very good portrait oh "her" :) She looks natural, really engaged in a conversation or another topic. In my opinion, the light is just enough to show the real complexion, no white spots of flash (I know that it wasn't fired, I read it in the photo info).
A very good dedication to your Love!

Tell your wife I think she should just give up all other jobs and go modeling full time. She is sooooo beautiful! A very natural pose and expression. An excellent portrait. But I do know how she feels , I DETEST having my picture taken. TFS and wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year!
