I took this before Christmas when I was working in Brighton. I had just finished work and came on to the beach to find this sunset. I had to very quickly set up to catch the light. Again I used the Sigma 10-20mm lens (I do like that lens) and an ND grad.

For those that haven't seen my previous posts the structure you can see is the ruined West Pier. It suffered collapses and arson attacks

how can it get any better than this! Stunning rays of light! Love the soft blur to the surf! I must get me a ND grad soon for my Tokina! This is super nice Karan!

Linda

I really like the soft colors in this photo, the soft effect in the water, and the sunrays are great!

Terrific sunset Karan, nice to see there is still some detail in the sky. Love the silhouettes too.

Composition is spot on as is the exposure. It is a nice lens (have one for my nikon)

I like the water effect.
the picture is generally nice but there are too many things (part of the "bridge" on the right, this sth in the middle and the thing on the left). On of them only would be enough:)

Beautiful sky on fire in this shot. I like that you have places where you go back and shoot again and each time it looks different.

Tibi

Hi Karan,
very nice compo and perfect exposure.

Hello Karan, the pier looks like the bones of a dinosaur in this scene. The sunset is beautiful and it seems to echo the shape of the broken pier.I love the suns rays lighting up the sky, just as your title says.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Amazing light and details, and a very strong composition.
Very good capture. The clearness of the structures in the sea is excelent.

Very unusual scenery ! Great posting because of that and because of the light. Very good timing, making the watermovement visible. Beautiful colors. TFS.

Hi Karan,
Beautiful composition to capture the ruined pier. Looks like a set of a science fiction movie. Great shot.

Hi Karan,

A beautiful sunset you captured, love the sunrays, the effect of slow shuttle speed created the beautiful smooth waves, ND filter is just great.. great shot!

Cheers,
Sweety

Hello Karan,
Another berautiful seaside capture!
The play of light is amazing, and the ruined pier makes a somewhat sad foreground interest...
Great lines and textures, you even manage to include a couple of birds!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Great capture - there's something surreal about seeing the rays of the sunshine seemingly coming up from the wreck of the pier. Great composition and beautiful colours.
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Hi,Karan,

Hi Karan,
The rays are the perfect bonus to this shot. The movement of the water brings it to life.
Thanks for the encouragement for learning Photoshop--I learned one little trick using the transformation tool this week while working on real estate photos. Going at a turtle's pace!
Take care,
Karen
