i liked the contrast of my friend playing football down by the sea in brighton with the white beach shacks in the background.

Critiques [Translate]

J'aime le contraste du sujet, un homme sérieux jouant au foot... La position de l'individu est étonnante, c'est pris sur le vif et pourtant on dirait une statut!
Regards.

nice moment you have here!

**

Hi Claire,
good capture of the moment. I love the pose and the detail!
Cheers, John.

A somewhat belated, but hearty welcome to Trek Lens, Claire
You have started your adventure on TrekLens with some fine images.
this one appeals to me because it has a wonderful touch of humour, more in the contrast between the suit and the game than in the contrast between the suit and the beach huts, though.

I have some suggestions for improvement here, if you don't mind.
First of all, do try to keep the whole person in the frame -- in this case, losing the bit of shoe is not tragic, but it does disturb the image a little. It's best to capture just a little more and crop later, in my opinion.
If you have access to processing software that allows you to do so, I would bleach the colour out of the vertical lines behind you subject. that way the red ball stands out even more. I may do a workshop to show you this, if that's okay.
On the other hand -- the moment you captures here is superb and the composition is close to the "Rule of Thirds" which makes it work nicely. I hope to see lots more postings from you....

A few tips to make your adventure on TrkLens easier and more fun:

- Each time you post a picture, take the time to visit at least 10 pictures in the Gallery to write a critique of the works of other photographers. Observing (and critiquing) the successes and errors of other members make for great opportunities to learn!
- Make use of the workshop (you’ll learn more about your own strengths and weaknesses by helping others improve)
- Always write more than 4 lines of NOTES. That allows members to give you points for usefulness and gives them a chance to learn more too!
- Read ABOUT (and FAQ)!
I am sure that these ideas will help you make the most of your stay on the site!!
