I knew these white stags were about but just have never been able to find them, that is until today. Someone had told me that there was a lookout point at a place called Bolderwood in the New Forest, wasnt sure I was going to find the white ones but there was not just 1 white stag but 2.
I had to track them for a while, to get some of the shoots I did.

All C&C welcome

Hi Jane, I think i read about these rare stags in the paper and how one was killed and strung up in a tree for no reason. I like the contrasty look to this photo, its not all that sharp which is a shame but it doesnt take away too much from the photo. :)

Hi Jane,I never knew there were White Stags,we have White Spirit Bears but no White Stags, they must be very unique.
I guess one would count themselves lucky to get a viewing
well done,I hope you went & put a lottery ticket on later.
Not sure if 1/125 was a fast enough setting to get a sharp image while the stag was moving,JMHO,does not take away from this really unusaul capture,
Ron

Hello Jane

This is a special animal for sure.
What a wonderful documentation of it.
The capture is very good, and I know that fallow deer are spooked easily so great job to get this.

Hi Jane,
Great shot!!

I'm going to Bolderwood on Saturday myself to try to get one fo these almost mythical beasts...i was wondering if i could ask you whereabouts you saw this chap? Was it near to the big viewing platform or did you just wander off into the woods and get lucky?

Hope i'm as lucky as you, thanks so much for sharing this.

Paul

Hi Jane,
A great capture. Good work tracking down these elusive fellows.
I wonder if a cropping close around the Stag would produce a different perspective. It looks like you could do that.

WoW Jane

I had heard of the white stag at the New Forest but as I don't drive I can't get there (I doubt you can get to there by public transport). I would love to see one. Legend says that seeing one is lucky - so buy a lottery ticket! Wonderful moment catured by you
