| This was taken on Gosport Quay a man is on the walkway but appears as a ghostly figure. The street light has obviously played tricks with the camera. |

Hi Julie,
welcome to TrekLens. You have chosen quite nice observation as your first photo. You are probably surprised why the photo doesn't have expected impact? I think that you have made kind of composition mistake confusing the watcher a bit. The main subject of the photo is very well placed over the sidewalk, quite distinct ghost-person. But since it is really hardly visible (as each ghost... lol), you cannot keep in the same photo much easier recognisable object. You left on the photo 2 of them - each very distracting becauese they attract on this night photo viewer's attention. They are building on the right with many, many bright spots and the pier (or the bridge? whatever it is...) with one very bright light spot on the left. Smaller, but also disturbing is the single flare being also the very bright spot. Less important is the sidewalk in the foreground. It's not bright too much, but it has curved lines which guide my eyesight to the left; I omit the ghost again. These are spots atracting my attention. The ghost should do it instead. I made for you the workshop eliminating these problems. On resulting photo you will see the line of bright streetlamps being the only guide to the center of the sidewalk where the ghost waits for me :) I increased a little the contrast and upsized the photo. Added also the frame. Let me know what do you think about it :-)
