[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Mast Pond and No 6 Boathouse at Portsmouth Naval Base.
The Mastpond dates to 1665 when it was dug by Dutch prisoners of war (sorry John!).
Because the Portsmouth dockyards evolved over time instead of being designed and built at one time, everything wasn't always placed efficiently. The mastpond is a good example, being a long way from where the ships were built and maintained. Boathouse No. 6 dates to 1846.
I have tried a different process from usual it involves a lot of use of the Clarify tool in Paintshop Pro 8.
Hope you like the result.

I really love this effect. Well done!

Wow Michael this has the look of an oil painting. Vibrant colors add to the overall look of the photo. This is a great pov making it an interesting scene. Thank you for sharing,
Fran

Hello Michael,

Much alike the Portugal pictures from 'fer'.
Strong effect; light is strange/weird. Water looks frozen and wiped clean for skating.
Great shot Michael

Hi Michael,
excellent shot, great POV and excellent details. Love the PP work you done.
TFS..Sky

Fantastic result. Its more like a painting. Good work on the PP. Good compostion. Love it.

I enjoy the buildings contrast. One look more recent then the other! But the play with water and sky is mostly great

Nice way of doing this Micheal. And sorry ??
My friend .. admit that we Dutch made a fantastic building..right? Altough the officials say we only dug the basement ..its a Dutch building ^_^ lol
Nice photo and points later..cheers
John

Very well done!

Constantinos

Although this photo is a bit busy, I like it very much. The PP adds so much impact it is unreal! Lovely work. Can one do the same in Photoshop Elements 2?

Hi Michael,

Terrific POV once again with strong colours and good reflections. The 'clarify' tool does some wonderful things and the effect you have created here is outstanding. TFS,
David

Hello Michael,

Whatever pp you have done here has resulted in spectacular results, this looks more like somewhere on the med than Portsmouth….or anywhere in good ole blighty for that matter. Fantastic image.

Cheers Gazza

wonderful PP michael
the POV is prefect for the effect
excellent work

points added :)

Hello Michael !!!

First I thought this one was from our colleague
Fernando Machado (^_^).

Great PP. I got to add it my in my favorites! Well done.
Great theme too. I love to see the docks....
Robert

Very creative image and PP work. This reminds me some lovely old post cards, which were very artistic. The composition is excellent and the colors very impressive.

Awesome, artistic, colorful and moody all in one. I like the blue tinge. Very creative and moody. Nice work,
Scott

I am amazed at the result from the filter. I too love it and tried it recently. The effect is just great.

A very interesting product, I like the perspective, which gives it an unusual balance, and the surreal feel from the post processing.

I love the result of this effect is looks like a painting, is there somehow this can be done in PS?
Christine.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant!
jaco

Great post processing. It makes the image almost surreal. I especially like the detail of the boats' reflections. Great work!

Well, Michael, this is sublime artwork. That filter doesn't always work, but here it renders a magnificent effect. Of course, the picture was a great one to start with, I bet.
TFS.
