[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The 'Fishbourne to Portsmouth' car ferry approaches Portsmouth Harbour just after sunrise.
On the horizon stands 'Spit Sands Fort' one of three forts built to protect the anchorages and inner approaches the Portsmouth Harbour.
See:http://www.palmerstonforts.org.uk/redan/spit.htm . for detailed information. The land to the right is the Isle of Wight.
To take this photo took some advance planning, the location can only be accessed at low tide and a clear winter's morning was necessary, combining these two elements in England was quite a challenge, there were a few aborted attempts.

Some post processing in Photoshop CS.

Welcome to Trek Lens Roger, good lighting, composition and excellent note.
A slight horizon rotation is maybe needed but a great first shot on TL.
Regards from a Dockie to an ex Dockie!

Michael.

Hi Roger,

Very nice early morning view here of this ferry. I like the soft yellow lighting here as it gives the real feel of a cool mornings venture out on the sea. Composition and detail is also very good.

Excellent first shot here on TL and a warm welcome my friend.

John

Hello Roger,
Impressive first shot... The horizon seems slightly tilted to the left, but I really like the composition (parallelism between the ferry and the fort) as well as the morning light. Keep on posting!
Erik

Nice shot.
First when I looked at it, it reminded me of the famous Whote Cliffs of Dover ;-)
