[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the ferry pontoon on Hayling Island taken from Portsmouth. Langstone Harbour is a tidal bay between Portsmouth & Hayling Island. It has a narrow mouth which is notorious for strong currents when the tide ebbs & flows. At high tide water covers approx. 1900 hectares and at low tide 200, this provides extensive mud flats for the bird population. At the Northern reaches of the harbour there is a RSPB bird reserve.

I like the dramatic, sharp contrast in your photos, make them alive, dynamic. thanks

Hi Roger
I'm not sure if this is where a polariser would come in handy to reduce the glare off the water, or if it's just a case of the old photographer's adage of waiting for the right light/ right time of day?
If the photo is about silhouettes in the waning light, my advice would be to focus more on one feature or another, perhaps that gangway across the centre of the shot, and zoom more closely on it?
This is all my opinion only of course, I could be wrong on all counts. :)
Thanks for sharing

Hi Roger,

I really like the different silhouetted shapes in this shot my friend and also those fingers of light that give the image a special natural lighting effect too.

Great capture

verry nice light and good silhouet.

Hi Roger,

Love your sky.
Today I'm focussing on skies - the bigger the better. I tried yours by scrolling the pic up on my screen and losing some water. Maybe I make a workshop if I have time. Try it out please, it seems to amateur me to make a more interesting picture.
Regards
Els
