| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| We travelled across to the Isle of Wight on the day following the Round the Island Yacht Race and found it was quite a lot busier than usual. Apart from the passenger and car ferries to IOW, and one of the larger P&O ones going to Europe, there were yachts of all sizes and even this Thames Barge (called Kitty, built at Harwich in 1895) which is kept in Portsmouth Harbour. Coming straight at us in this picture is the Catamaran taking footpassengers from Portsmouth to Ryde,IOW. The catamaran and car ferry run regular ferries throughout the day as there is no road connection to the island. |
