Another picture of the Spinnaker Tower, taken this evening. I have never posted a night shot of this tower so here it is.
I have printed this story before but still think it is worth another read in case anyone missed it first time round.
The following story was in the Daily Mirror.
"SIX YEARS LATE AND £11M OVER BUDGET, TROUBLED SPINNAKER TOWER FINALLY OPENS.. THEN THE LIFT GETS STUCK
THE jinxed £36million Spinnaker Tower opened yesterday amid high farce - as the boss got trapped in its lift 100 feet up.

Embarrassed council project manager David Greenhalgh and two colleagues were stuck in the glass viewing pod for almost two hours.

It had shuddered to a halt just 15 minutes before the first customers were due to go up the 558-foot tall attraction in Portsmouth, Hants.

It was the latest setback for the tower, which is £11million over budget and should have opened six years ago - in time for the Millennium.

After engineers finally freed Mr Greenhalgh, he admitted the hitch had been "very embarrassing and upsetting". Unusual wind conditions were blamed for a mechanism failure, but trouble with the lift has been one of the reasons for recent delays in opening."

Hello Michael!
A great perspective for such a stunning picture!
The POV is trully amazing as the colors.
Very nice Job and interesting note.
Congratulations.
Luci

Great light! Very good shot.

Lovely shot of a great design. I like the neon colours very much they stand out well against your sky here. Well done and TFS Michael.

John

Hi Michael, Very good shot with wonderful colour and I like the shapes. Great notes.
TFS, Paul.

great angle, good and crisp nightshot, well done, (*_*)

The guys might have been framed . Sounds like it anyway.....
Beautiful and interesting tower despite the bad publicity. It reminds me a famous
Dubai Hotel

Well seen, composed , captured and framed.
Cheers!
Robert

Not your usual subjects Michael, but equally well finished and presented. I'm surprised to see the large aperture used, considering the span of this tower, and still have such a crisp result...
Your story is quite funny, the flunk of a prestige-project. Well at least it looks good enough for a night-shot.
TFS

Magical colours Michael and extra sharp. I love the lines of this. Good architectural photo, TFS
David
PS and they hope for ideal wind conditions all time? Best of luck folks.

Hello Michael,
I'm always so impressed by the natural sharpness in your pictures... this one no exception! Besides the lighting here is quite amazing... Very good night photograph!

Green smiley tomorrow! OK -

Great graphical image with interesting abstract colours and very good composition. The frame also pays the image a nice compliment. Clouds also very dramatic. TFS.

This design is so reminiscent of the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, where the elevators never DARE get stuck.
Nice late evening (?) take and 'reasonably' crisp an image.
15 medals to award is never enough per day. Too many worthy shots come up. I'll be back.

It is one spectacular place. I like the purple-blue colours. Very clear and well composed. To me it is an excellent photo.

Out of smileys. Sorry.

Hi Michael, it is not your day post but I had to comment on it. It is superb! The composition, the colours, the sharpness, I love everything about it.

Very well done and seen. Cheers, Yan

Hi Michael; I make this picture a favorite. The colours in the night are overwhelming; knifesharp taken in a lowlight sky; just great!
Very artistic.
