[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the nicer things of my job is that I get to organise Photo Experience Days in conjunction with a local Falconry Centre. We held one of these days on Saturday, where we take a small selection of birds out into the New Forest and photograph them out in natural surroundings.

In this case we placed "Twoo" ... our Tawny Owl for the day... onto a nice moss covered tree stump on the edge of a clearing so that the light was on her front whilst the background was relatively dark so she would stand out.

Canon 40D
Canon 100 - 400 L IS USM
Aperture Priority
Tripod and Remote Release

ISO 100 ... for max quality
1/15th sec ... hence the tripod and remote!
F5.6 ... to make the background completely blurred

Dear Miles Herbert!
Amazing owl.
Good light and bright.
Perfect sharpness.
Good capture.
Original take.
TFS!

Just fabulous, Miles!
The wondefully detailed, sharply focussed owl is looking directly at the camera! The light is reflecting in her eyes to give her real character. What a pose!
Well done!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Miles,

really nice shot of the owl.( taking back the dark comment, blaming my monitor for that one :)

Hello Miles, one of my very favourite birds!
You have managed to capture the light in its eyes which really brings the shot to life.
All the colours and sharpness are very good.
The blurred bg works well.
Tfs, regards Jean.
