Just for a moment a train from London to Ramsgate interrupts the tranquility of the river Stour in the village of Chartham, near Canterbury.

I think it's the presence of the willow tree that makes this shot work - take that away and it would have far less magic.

Composition is ok, personally I would place the bridge higher in the frame, at the moment it is in the centre of the shot. (You're probably sick of people talking about Rule of Thirds and just wanted to do something different - but IMHO it's a formula that really works.)

Rew

Hi Les,
I agree with Rew, the weeping willow to the right is an excellent feature of this scene. Really livens it up and adds to the sense of tranquility. As for the train, I think you've done well to freeze it, must have been hard to get a decent shutter speed in the bright mid-day light. The wispy looking clouds are a bonus too, well seen.

TFS,
Scott.
