[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I Took this picture in the early hours of the morning after reading a few photography magazines I had about the house. There was a tutorial in one magazine which was encouraging readers to photography anything and everything in sight from a creative view point. In a demonstration they used some drawing pins lined up on a light box to show the bright colours this inspired me and I grabbed a few pins, on a low budget and without a light box I decided to stick pins into our dinner table out of several shots I liked the one of a solitary pin. I used colour replace on Photoshop to de-saturate all colours except green and then increased the saturation slightly on the green colour to make the pin stand out even further.

Hope you like it, Comments welcome

I do like it. Simple and centered well. If there was a way to get a perfect shadow or mirrored relfection of the pin that would have been cool as well as the shadow here is bit distorted. Nice creative work. Thanks

It is one good experiment with interesting result. Like the sharpness of geen in contrast and the way it is middle. Very unconventional - good work Ben.

Nice One Ben! I like the color separation. The experimenting style is equally good.... Thanks for sharing :)

Take care...
- Hima.

You can say too... I planned a trip... Didn't know where to go... I close my eyes with a pin in the hand. put it randomnely on the map... Unfortunately... it arrive in water. So ok... i take a boat and go exactly on that spot select on the map... What a surprise to see a giant pin , put exactly in the sea, where it coresponding to my map... :o)

I like the curious result! It's nice!

great image! unteresting DOF. hope whoever you live with is OK about the new holes in the dinner table!

Hi Ben,
Wonderful shot! At first I thought the pin was lying on a surface with some water.
Congratulations

That's awesome and an great experiment!
Love the desat and the texture of the table.
Great DOF and the pins shadow/reflection is just great.
Nice work and use of objects that were readily available.

I like this result a lot! The dof and shadow and colour desaturation are all interesting and effective.

Hi Ben

Good composition - marrying the sharpness of the pin (pun not intended!) with the blurry shadow on the table is very geometric. Keep experimenting, its obviously producing good shots!
thanks for sharing
Mark

works really well!

Especially removing all the colours appart from the green!

Good work definatley worth it!
