[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Having just moved into a new house right next to a motorway bridge i purchased my first digital camera with multiple shutter speeds. I took this classic traffic shot at 11:30pm and the roads were still incredibly busy, I thought this added to the effect i was looking for highlighting the road.

I also really like what the longer shutter speeds do to the night sky although to the naked eye it was perfect darkness the purple glow in the sky really gave this picture some atmosphere

Hope you like it comments welcome

Hi Ben

I like the sweeping parallel curves of red & white. A superb time exposure with well managed lighting & sharpnes. Good work!

Hi Ben
Personally I would say that 20 sec shutter speed is way too long ... things get kind of cluttered up as it is evident from your shot ... what I usually do is go for 5-10 sec shots with less aperture
Cheers .... Sarju
PS: It is a good shot ... welcom to TL btw

I have always liked these kind of pictures... they remind me of just how busy the planet really is. Good work!

I think this is great, i iike the long shutter speed, although i agree this one does seem a little cluttered! maybe you should go a little later, or maybe take lots of shots and find one where there are no truck so all lights are on the same level, i think that would have come out a lot better! great shot though, i like you idea.

I am like a feather floating on air watching the traffic wheeze by and the wind from the traffic tosses me from place to place, never landing and still watching the lights of the traffic streaking by. The inverted 'C-curve' adds additional rhythm to the streaks of light. Really wonderful.

classic B stop photograph
nice effect
like the way its taken on a bend in the road
makes it more sweeping than a straight road
Nice one
