Good Morning Everyone,

This morning, my post is one of frequent visitors to my garden, a goldfinch.

I was quite amused at how the goldfinches balance so well at the very end of the perches; you could imagine another one at the other end, like a seesaw!

We had the honour of seeing the goldfiches bring their fledgelings and teach them how to feed from the bird feeders. It was a real family affair! There was a lot of flapping, begging, pushing and precarious balancing, but eventually it settled into a well-organised routine.

Thank you for your interest.
Please feel free to feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

Beautiful photo of an exotic and stunning looking bird, well photographed Bev

Hi Bev,
Wow! This is great! I always happen to be in the wrong place for these sort of shots, your one looks excellent. Very good focus, not to mention the excellent sharpness and details. A fine presentation too, would make a great calendar photo. Well done.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Beverly,
Wonderful capture of this beautiful fluffy visitor. Very nice colors, perfect sharpness.
I know the feeling! I have to place a feeder in my yard because I have all sorts of varieties visiting but it's practically impossible to photograph them...their so quick at detecting our presence!

I get them all the time too, but yet to capture a decent image.

This is spot on, sharp, well exposed and the crop is just right.

Long may you enjoy their company.

Good Morning, Beverley!

Another great shot of yours! This time a Goldfinch and that too in a nice mood and pretty position. The sharpness is simply great with nice POV and great DOF. The colors of the bird are just adorable. I simply love them. Great composition!

Have a nice weekend!

thanks and regards,

Paras Bhalla

Hi Bev,

This is beautifully shot the goldfinch looks resplendent and so close to the edge. The colours are great with nice sharp details tfs.

Regards
Jon

Fantastic Bev! Great sharpness and detail in this goldfinch. Nice use of shallow DOF ... focus seems to be on the birds breast area and up. Great timing on your part to catch him with his head turned .. we can even see the seed in his mouth, and a great little catchlight in his eye.
Great job Bev
Have a nice weekend

Hi Beverley. A wonderful close up of this very attractive small bird. The angle of its head, the seed in the mouth and the glint in its eye make it about as good as it get. The DOF effect makes all stand out well. TFS. Murray.
PS I hope you have this printed for your wall.

Hi Beverley, great clear shot, and I like the way you've framed it.
Thanks, Dave

Good morning Bev,

A most colorful goldfinch, looks like the beauty posed for you, the insect on its beak is most engaging to see. Your tech settings appear optimum. Well done and best regards...

Hi Bev'
This is really wonderful long distance shot with excellent focus on this colorful bird
The bokeh of BG is fantastic and strong, it is a special desecive moment capture
Best wishes
Alireza

A great capture - cute, in its way, but also striking in the way you've caught the eye - and thos etalens. They really have that lizard/dinosaur look and are a potent reminder of the evolution of birds from their dinosaur ancestors.
Beautiful exposure and DOF control.

Hi Bev,

You must have the patience of Job, good luck or a combination of both. Nothing to fault here. All is perfect. Shallow dof & sharpness are both stunning. Tfs!

hello bev,
this is beautifully photographed and framed. With delicious colour and excellent sharpness.
I wish the goldfinches would discover our garden table.

Bev

bonjour Beverley
nice capture, beautiful these colours
We have little birds here but not with a red-white-black head like this
The blurred bg fits well and the dof too though the tail is slightly out of focus.
kind regards
Henri
