Hello Everyone

Today I am posting a shot of a wild rose that I captured whilst walking alongside the beach at Arnside. I do love to see this particular plant; not only is it beautiful, it is a great source of food for wild creatures.

There used to be lots of wild roses along the hedgerows where I live but, sadly, the council has cut them all down, supposedly to improve 'sight lines' though they never appeared to be obstructing any view to me!

Here is a little more information about them from greenchronicle.co

Wild Roses: pink or white flowers in summer.
Hips follow in autumn and are red and shiny.

Uses
Rose petals can be used to make wine and can be candied fro food decoration. When dried they are good for pot-pourri. Dry rosehips for later use. Hips can also be used for wine or rosehip jelly which can be used with meat like cranberry jelly.

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please fell free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph.
Bev :-)

pp added layer & border, added mini borders around central photo, erased border to reveal underlying leaves, added text & signed

superb exploded frame effect as well
Great composition and fantastic contrasts -- I just love it

Hi Beverley...
Another excellent catch, nicely done..!
Fine image, colors and details...
Best regards,
George

Beautiful framing here Bev! LOVE the sharpness, and how the leave rolls out of the pic onto the frame! Nice details and good pp work!

Hi BR,

I like the way you presented this concept..
That's a different smile today from you...with a bigger frame...
Good capture of the flower, and the leaves thrusting out, may have forced you to get on this bigger frame.. is it?
It's a beautifull share, dear friend.
ENJOY !!

Very different Bev, way out of border :). Lovely detail in the flower itself and good colour. The small inner frame works nicely with all the black. Perhaps some sharpening prior to adding the frame layer would have made the leaves OOB sharper.

Hello Beverley, your pp skills are excellent;I will have to come round for lessons!
As Silke says, the oversized frame really works for this shot, maybe because it is black and contrasts beautifully with the colours of the rose.
Excellent notes.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Beverley,
The framing is attractive, I like the leaves protruding out of the frame. The rose's core is sharp, and there is much details to admire. Have a good weekend. Danilo

Hi Berverly,
Very nice presentation enhancing this humble wild flower!
The contrast with your frame is well thought!
Very original and creative! Bravo! Annie

It's a beauty Bev - as is the presentation.

Hi Bev,
Like the idea here, the picture is self is wonderful, but due the large frame far to small. Also the text is in my opinion much too large and the leaf which is potruding into the frame isn't very sharp. Harsh critique I realise, but the idea on itself is perfect! Hope you don't take this too personally. Due the realy briliant idea I still think it's a two point smiley :-)

Hello Bev

Absolutely delightful! the dark large frame conrasts and sets the image perfectly.

Hi Bev

This is another very good composition with the OOB wild rose. I like the simplicity of these flowers and it must be good to see them in the wild still. I like the frame and this OOB image will go straight to my OOB theme and may favourites. Very good light and clarity on the white as well.
