Beautiful Morning

Hi,
Took this late last year, when enroute to the Lake District for a walk..I was just passing Ingleton as the sun came up, and as you can see it was quite chilly and misty. I always thought that this was the valley of the River Ribble, until I started looking on a map prior to posting this image...It is in fact the valley of a tributary of the River Lune, the Wenning and is close to a Lancashire town of Bentham.
Now for all you foreign TL'ers, (and some southerners)there exists some rivalry between the northern counties of Yorkshire and Lancashire, which dates back to the war of the roses, and possibly beyond. The Yorkshire rose being white, the Lancashire rose being red. Well, as I am living in the white rose county (and I must add not native to here), I must feel some allegiance to Yorkshire, and state that I was not aware of anywhere so beautiful in the county of the red rose! So this just goes to prove, you learn something new everyday. Well I do anyway....... Enough I hear you cry!!
Enough indeed.......hand held leaning on the car, so am quite pleased with the result at 1/10th and f5.6. I've done some painting in ps, with a dup layer and a black fill layer. Hope you like the image,
Take care,
John |
