Today a bit of colour, after my two monochrome postings.
Another shot from one of my early November walks in Sefton Park. It was a lovely crisp, misty, autumn afternoon. A bit too cold for anyone to want to sit on this bench, much better to keep walking to keep warm, but I found another use for it; as a prop in my image.
The sun was low in the sky and kept breaking through the hazy clouds to give a nice light, and to bring out the colours in the leaves.
Our warm-but-wet summer meant that we had a long spell with the fading leaves on the trees, before mid-November winds stripped them all bare.
On getting home, I have ever so slightly adjusted curves to get it as close to the image of the scene that was in my memory. Then a slight crop, re-size, USM and frame.
In re-sizing, I have had to shrink this image more than usual to get it down below 200kb… are there any techie people out there who can explain a way around this? |

Hi Nigel,
Long time no see. Good to have you back on TL with an attractive picture showing autumn colours. Think this image is a bit small (451x595 pix instead of the max 800x793 pix) and also the saturation can use a boost. Made a WS to show what I mean. Nevertheless a fine posting my friend!
