[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A macro shot of blossom on a young Plum tree growing in my garden. The lens was zoomed in to the maximum 200mm and focussed on a macro setting. This photo comes from the first film I have run through this camera (the first I have taken with any SLR camera). As I felt inexperienced I used the program mode (action setting - as it was very windy), but I think the camera has handled the picture fairly well. The film was reduced in price as it was near its use-by-date and so probably was not working at its optimum.

Hi Matthew and welcome to TL! I think the film was fine. The colors seem well saturated. It appears that your point of focus became the little new bud which is on the limb. Of course with a 200mm lens the depth of field is going to be very shallow. Keep on shooting and we look forward to more of your art! B

Welcome to TL. This is good colors and composed nicely. It's hard to shoot macro in the wind but this is a good first try. Looking forward to seeing more.

It is a very, very nice try, Matthew. And you did very well to share it.
The bloom seems to be a little out of focus and , as you mentioned, it was windy. But the colors are splendid, the composition very good. And you are so lucky to have blossoms in your garden. We will have to wait in may, here.
