This is for Pierre Frigon, who celebrates birthday number 55 today. Though I am sure that he is on a diet like most of us, birthdays are a day when indulging a little seems to be allowed. So I present to you a very old-fashioned candy store.

Like many of the houses in old York, there is scarcely a straight line to be seen. In fact, I wound myself wondering how many of these houses have managed to stay upright for the hundreds of years they have stood in this Saxon town.

Thanks for looking and have a happy healthy day, week and year, and many, many more to come

I sure hope Pierre sees this! I love this shot, this is one I saw back a few weeks ago that you sent me from your trip! Love the window, but the girl just walking in shows action. Love the colors here, I'm sure Pierre will love this one!

What a nice warm feeling this shot has, good capture and presentation.
I particularly like, as has been already pointed out by Bev, the "moment in time" feel of the person about to enter the shop.
The post processing adds a feel to the image that sometimes, honestly, feels very warm and nice to me, and other times, has an odd feel to me--I'm obviously conflicted about it but do like the sense of the photo regardless.
Good work, and Happy Birthday Pierre!!
TFS,
Wilt

Thanks Silke.
It just reminded me, have a few candies layinf near me, so, with a mouthful typing this. haha
Very sweet, indeed.

looks like from a tale :)
Lovely house from old York.
Have a lovely day.
Ioana

Hi Silke,

This is a cozy place, the sweet store looks very nice, indeed and you captured and presented it very well. TFS.
Have a pleasant weekend,
Sorina

I think the same builders worked here Silke, many of the older buildings aroung town have the same tilts. Interesting colour tones in the image and well composed.
David

PS somewhere on my PC I have a similar shot of Australia's oldest sweet store, here in town.
